Are you having trouble keeping a fireplace going all night? Whether it’s a fireplace or stove fire, it’s not so easy to keep it going when you sleep!

No one wants to get up at night to feed it… So, how do you have embers when you wake up the next morning?

Fortunately, the other day the chimney sweep came to the house and gave me his trick to make the fire last all night. The trick is to put the logs on a bed of embers and cover them with ashes. Look :

How to do
1. Before going to bed, make sure you have a good bed of red hot embers.

2. Place four logs of dense wood (e.g. oak) in the fireplace.

3. Using the pliers, place them together so that they are tight.

4. Wait until the logs have started to burn.

5. Using the shovel, cover the logs with ash to prevent the wood from burning too quickly.
